The Patton Cemetery Annex is pictured above on October 21, 2005. This cemetery faces Cedar Avenue and is located in the southwest corner at the intersection of Cedar and Eight Street below the Chapel on the Hill (old Primitive Baptist Church) and beside the South Pittsburg High School.

The graves of Joseph Lodge and his wife, Elizabeth, are located in the Patton Cemetery Annex. Mr. Lodge, a Pennsylvania native, was the founder of Lodge Cast Iron in South Pittsburg, which is the city's oldest operating industry.

The grave of Gideon Welch is another of those located in the Patton Cemetery Annex. Mr. Welch was a Union veteran of the American Civil War who fought with Company D, 188th Pennsylvania Infantry. Suppose he knew Mr. Lodge who was also from Pennsylvania?
