We have been fortunate to have found or been sent a variety of additional historic photographs representing our area and we are looking for any others that folks may have of the South Pittsburg area including those of churches, schools, industry, people, buildings, events, sporting events and anything else that may be of interest. If you have a neat old photograph/s that you would like to share please email us at
Below are groups of images we've recently been sent or discovered. Click on image to open album and enjoy.
Photo group below made by James Warren around 1978 from a helicopter showing Richard City and South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Sam Warren, James' son, sent these to us.
Gail Golliher discovered the group of photos below in her grandmother's photos and sent them to us. These show work in the old drainage culvert that once ran down Third Street in South Pittsburg and covered over by 1940. These are looking back at Magnolia Avenue and the mountain. You can see the old Methodist Episcopal Church (Wesley Methodist today, less the steeple) located at the corner of Magnolia Avenue and Third Street.
